The Development Office is an inspiring and motivating enviroment in which to work. It has benefitted over the past 18 years from an embedded culture of philanthropy across the College and its value is well recognised. The atmosphere in College is one of openness, inclusion, support and understanding.

Within this setting, the primary responsibility of the role holder will be to encourage this culture of giving amongst alumni and friends, generating sustainable donation income in support of the College’s fundraising prioritie; including student support, teaching and our historic buildings.

The role will be challenging and varied, and will include the identification, solicitation and stewardship of donors. Through a variety of channels (including management of annual telephone campaigns, mail appeals and events), you will promote the impact of philanthropy, and particularly of participation, to our global community of alumni and friends, as well as seeking to encourage higher gift levels from existing donors. You will lead on the development and implementation of our stewardship programme for all our low- and mid-level donors. You will also play a lead role in raising awareness amongst current students about the difference philanthropy makes to their student experience.

As well as demonstrating recent and successful fundraising experience, you will be a creative thinker with ideas on how to raise the profile of giving both inside and outside the College. You must have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as data management and statistical understanding.  A good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite is essential, and experience of Raiser’s Edge would be an advantage. Importantly, you will demonstrate the ability to build successful relationships with alumni and friends, and have exceptional communication and organisational skills. You will be a self-motivated team player with a desire to work with others towards common long-term goals.

We offer a generous benefits package, including an annual salary of up to £26,000 (depending on skills and experience), all within a historical and inspiring environment.
