Major Donor Fundraising Manager

KHULA Education is committed to making a long-term investment in the lives of children from deep, rural uMzinyathi District, in KwaZulu Natal.  We provide them and their teachers with educational support programmes so that they might reach their full potential and bring greater prosperity to their families and their community.

We work with primary and high schools that are in close proximity to our early childhood development centres.  In this way we can offer a variety of educational interventions to young children as they progress from our pre-school, to primary and finally to high school.  We call this our “KHULA Linked Schools Model”. It is built on four inter-dependant programme areas: Early Childhood Development (ECD), Supplementary Teaching in Maths and English, Educator Development and Life Skills Development & Job Readiness. To date we have secured funding from both UK and South African Trusts and Foundations as well as individual donations both small and large.

We are looking to complement the support we receive from Trusts & Foundations to appoint an individual to establish and lead growth with major donors. Whilst major donor fundraising is a relatively new area for us, we do already receive a substantial sum from our wide base of High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI’s) and are confident that, with a dedicated and skilled resource, we have the potential to significantly increase donations, particularly on a multi-year funding basis.

The goal of the major donor manager is therefore to develop and implement, in line with the vision, aims and objectives of KHULA Education, a major donor strategy, which delivers restricted, and unrestricted income over multi-year planned giving programmes.
