Trusts and Grants Fundraiser (part-time, 2 or potentially 2.5 days per week)

Greater Manchester; up to £30,000 pro-rata

Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research funds research to discover and develop new, safe treatments for children’s cancer. We’re impatient to improve the outcomes for every family with a child facing a diagnosis – and every day in Britain another six children face this challenge. Currently, too many children affected won't survive into adulthood, and most children who do survive their original cancer are left with lifelong, life-limiting disabilities and illnesses caused by the treatments which saved their lives. Our aim is to ensure that in future, every child with cancer not only survives, but thrives.

We’re looking for a Trusts fundraising expert, who can develop and nurture relationships with grant-awarding Trusts and with our Scientific Director and our research community. Ideally, you’ll have significant experience of applying for grants from Trusts focused on children/health, or Trusts based in the North West. Candidates without Trust fundraising experience will not be considered.

A natural fundraiser, you’ll be comfortable finding new sources of income, recruiting new Trusts as supporters, and communicating at all levels of a business.

You’ll be responsible for all our income from grant-making Trusts and Foundations. Your key objectives will be to maximise the recruitment of new supporters, and to maximise the income they award. Success in these two objectives will be delivered through working collaboratively with our small fundraising team, marketing manager and Scientific Director.

Working with daily support from the Director of Development in smart, new office accommodation, the successful applicant will have broad scope to develop and expand this exciting new role. If you can attract new sources of income to Kidscan, and develop them into ongoing funders, please apply by sending your CV with covering letter to Ged Carter, Director of Development, or email Ged to request further information.
