  3. Equipping our parishes to raise more money
  4. Driving and supporting strategic campaigns
  5. Identifying and communicating our fundraising needs
  6. Encouraging fundraising awareness within the organisation so it becomes a more explicit part of our organisation

Closing date - Wednesday 21 February 2018. Interview - Thursday 1 March 2018.

Post Introduction

The Fundraising Manager is responsible for implementing and developing the fundraising strategy and overseeing the work of the Parish Fundraising Manager.  We are seeking a self-motivated, creative Fundraising Manager to be responsible for the further development and implementation of our fundraising strategy.

The role is part time (0.5 FTE) and it is anticipated that the role might appeal to somebody who may wish to develop a portfolio career and combine this role with other commitments.

Further to having run a very successful fundraising campaign in 2017, we now envisage a key element being the development of strong relationships that have been initiated.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading some direct fundraising projects.

Additionally, there will be involvement in supporting and advising churches and parishes in their fundraising campaigns.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee the continued implementation of the fundraising strategy in line with the Diocese’s needs.
  • Continue the culture change in the Diocese for fundraising to become a more explicit part of the organisation’s operations.
  • Oversee the strategic/key relationships with individuals/trusts/livery companies in partnership with the senior leadership team to maximise opportunities to support the work of the parishes and the central diocesan projects. This will involve supporting and guiding key members of senior staff in building and cultivating relationships.
  • Be responsible for identifying and communicating our fundraising needs, including producing compelling cases for support, impact reports and communications/marketing materials. Work closely with CV2020 leaders and the Development team to develop and deliver fundraising plans for projects.  Run occasional fundraising dinners/events.
  • Support and manage the Parish Fundraising Manager as they provide parishes with a package of support to enable them to achieve their own fundraising targets.  This will also involve advising some parishes on their fundraising plans.
  • Be responsible for the fundraising targets and cost budget, ensuring resources are used in the most effective way.
  • Ensure we comply with the fundraising standards and best practice
  • Undertake other projects and tasks as appropriate
