We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic fundraiser to help transform Major Gift fundraising for Greenpeace. We have an ambitious strategy to double the number of supporters and net income in the next five years and growing support from major gifts is a key part of this.

Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organisation that acts to transform industry and governments, in order to protect our planet and promote peace. To maintain our independence and enable us to campaign without fear of compromise we never accept corporate or government donations, relying wholly on donations from our individual supporters.

We already have a strong track record with trusts and foundations, but we believe that there is significant potential to dramatically increase our income from individual major donors. Reporting directly to the Head of Key Relationships, you will have significant potential to shape our overarching major gift strategy. You will concentrate on getting out and meeting existing and potential supporters, building lasting relationships and securing funding. Managing a portfolio of Greenpeace’s most generous, committed and diverse supporters, you will also have a target for contacting, meeting and qualifying potential new donors that have been identified from research or our regular supporter base.

To succeed, you will need a strong track record in securing significant gifts from individuals.  A first-rate communicator, able to engage and persuade convincingly on a professional and personal level with diverse audiences, you are as comfortable pitching on the telephone as you are meeting new people face-to-face to talk about Greenpeace. And you will be so passionate about securing philanthropy for the environment that you’d happily take supporters to the Arctic or the Amazon to get it!

An enthusiasm for Greenpeace’s mission, and knowledge of or interest in the environmental sector is essential.

Greenpeace is an inclusive and diversity-friendly employer. We value difference, promote equality and challenge discrimination, enhancing our organisational capability. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, colour, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age or any other category protected by law.

The client is happy to conduct telephone interviews for overseas candidates.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
