Manchester Cares is seeking an entrepreneurial, creative, versatile and determined fundraiser to join our growing team as Development Officer, leading our vital Community Fundraising programme at this exciting new organisation.

This is a big opportunity to join a dynamic team tackling one of the biggest social challenges of our time – loneliness and isolation in our amazing but rapidly changing city.

In your new role, you will work with the wider Cares Family’s national Director of Development to create, nurture and expand all areas of Manchester Cares’ fundraising from scratch – from inspiring and supporting volunteers to participate in challenges, to hosting exciting events, to developing relationships and writing passionate, creative proposals to trusts, foundations and other partners.

That’s a big ask, so this brand new role needs you to be full of ideasable to inspire and tell powerful stories in writing and in person, and confident spinning multiple plates at once. You also need to be diligent with your systems and processes to stay on top of the multitude of opportunities available to Manchester Cares as it grows.

The ideal candidate will have experience in fundraising for a growing charity and be adept at working with a wide range of people across the public, private and community sectors. But you don’t have to have years of experience. More importantly, we need someone who understands and is motivated by the demographics and social challenges of the issues we work on – and someone who is a fast learner and passionate about and can clearly promote and raise income to fund our vision of building close community networks to tackle isolation and loneliness in Manchester.

So we're looking for a real people-person: someone who can build trust and relationships across our network of younger and older neighbours, businesses, grant makers and other partners. And we also need a numbers person: someone who is methodical, target focused and unwilling to give up.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. Please see the Manchester Cares website for the full job description and details on how to apply.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
