Concordia is a charity founded in 1943 to encourage peace and reconciliation in the aftermath of the Second World War. Since then we have been committed to national and international volunteering as a means to promoting intercultural understanding and peace. Together with our volunteers we created a document that sums up what Concordia is about and why we do what we do.

Whilst we are still very much a non-profit organisation, we are now internationally recognised, providing participants and volunteers from over 50 nations with placements in the UK and abroad

As part of two of the biggest international volunteer networks, the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations and the Committee for International Voluntary Service Organisations (CCIVS), we share with them quality standards for our projects as well as the ethos that drives our work.

The successful candidate will have:

• Degree level or relevant qualification(s) or comparable experience in some or all of following disciplines - marketing, digital/social media, brand development, media & communications and fundraising/income generation
• excellent knowledge and experience of strategic thinking and planning, media campaigns, and marketing strategy.
• excellent written and oral communication skills a good eye for detail and digital competency in a variety of media.

We are seeking to appoint to this new position a person who:

• is excited by the vision and the ambition of Concordia and can contribute to a strategic, cohesive and effective leadership team
• recognise and understand Concordia’s special UK and international role to encourage an understanding of different beliefs and cultures and promote harmony between nations
• have successful leadership experience, possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well energy and commitment
• can deputise for the Chief Executive in their absence
