This position is to join our ambitious fundraising team grow income through a portfolio of sports and challenge events, community fundraising activities and mass participation products. The post holder will have the opportunity to review and improve existing activity, build on the success of newly-developed initiatives, and identify potential areas of growth.

About this job 
This is a key leadership role, providing strategic direction for community and events fundraising across the charity, and working collaboratively with senior colleagues across the Engagement and Fundraising Directorate to support broader organisational goals.

The post holder is responsible for line management of the national Community and Events Team and the England Area Fundraising Team, including oversight of the operational delivery of the portfolio, setting and managing significant budget and expenditure, and enabling the team to build solid relationships with supporters, as well as personally maintaining networks.

In addition, this post is accountable for the fundraising carried out by the network of MS Society local support and fundraising groups, based in all regions of the UK, and so this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fundraising team with both local and national impact.

We are seeking an individual with significant fundraising leadership and strategic experience, and a strong track record of delivering successful community and events programmes. This person will be confident with budget management and tracking and reporting on expenditure, and will have solid knowledge of the fundraising environment and best practice, keeping up-to-date with changes. Experience of working with a volunteer network would be desirable.
