The Multiple System Atrophy Trust (MSA Trust) is the UK and Eire’s leading national charity offering vital support to people affected by MSA.  We are entirely funded through voluntary donations and Trusts and Foundation grants, providing an information and support service to those affected by MSA and their families at no cost to them.  Some of our activities last year included:

  • 87 support groups - as far apart as Inverurie and Truro.
  • 4 MSA Nurse Specialists, attending over 57 specialist clinics last year
  • Developed an advocacy worker pilot project.
  • Reviewed and developed fact sheets and information to help people with MSA, their families and the healthcare professionals who care for them.

So very many of our members come to us at a time of great distress, they or their loved ones have been diagnosed with a terminal disease which is almost unknown to the general population. They crave both symptom management and understanding from people who know about the disease. Our nurses play a crucial role in helping them to cope and to plan for their care and we ensure that everyone affected by MSA has access to tailored information and support to guide them, and are not alone in their journey.

Can you help?  We need a dynamic and committed Senior Fundraising Manager who is interested in helping us to realise our ambitions to develop further services for people living with MSA.  It offers the opportunity to move into a more senior role with line management responsibility, that has the potential to develop into a head of Fundraising role. You will be a fundraiser with a great track record of raising funds through Trusts and Foundations and a desire to develop your wider skills in corporate, individual giving, regular giving and supporting the team in legacy, events and community fundraising.  We are a small charity, so someone who is prepared to roll up their sleeves and get involved at every level would be just the right candidate.

Additional benefits: Season ticket loan, 33 days’ holiday (inc Bank holidays), 5% pension contribution.
