Are you a successful fundraiser with experience of fundraising event management, and fundraising from a variety of individuals?

We are recruiting a fundraiser to develop and deliver a key part of our individual giving strategy and our programme of fundraising and wider cultivation events.

This role will be based in our fundraising team and be responsible for our annual Where’s Wally? fun run, individual giving club, challenge events, writing prizes and other fundraising initiatives and donations from members of the public.

You will need a proven track record in generating income from both corporate staff teams and the wider public, as well as the ability to draft compelling copy and experience of using digital marketing to support fundraising.

You will have led fundraising events and activities, be autonomous, capable of effective and supportive line management and happy collaborating across the organisation and with a wide range of people.

One person in six in the UK has poor literacy skills that impact on every area of their life. A child without good reading, writing and communication skills can’t succeed at school, and as an adult they could be locked out of the job market. Poverty doubles the likelihood of literacy failure by the age of five.

We are a national charity dedicated to raising literacy levels in the UK. Our research and analysis make us the leading authority on literacy. We run projects in the poorest communities, campaign to make literacy a priority for politicians and parents, and support schools. Our mission is to give young people the literacy skills they need to get a job and lead a successful life.

As well as a competitive salary, we offer benefits including a generous annual leave allowance of 28 days (plus bank holidays and office closure between Christmas and New Year), and pensions contributions of 8% of annual salary.

This role is based in London SW8.

Closing date: 10am, Monday 11 December 2017.
