Nene Park Trust manages 1,725 acres of greenspace, including one of the most visited Country Parks in the UK. Following completion of the Nene Park Master Plan, the Trust has entered a new strategy period and has prioritised developing new sources of charitable income to help fund its ambitious plans as well as contribute towards core costs. The Trust is therefore looking to appoint a Fundraising Officer to work with Trust staff, volunteers and supporters to build income generation focusing on individuals, corporations, and small trusts and foundations. Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, the successful candidate will lead on the development and implementation of a range of methods to build support from these sources. This is a rare opportunity to make a real difference as the Trust’s fundraising activity has potential to grow significantly. The key responsibilities of the Fundraising Officer will include:

  • Leading on fundraising from individuals, including community fundraising, donations, in memoriam giving and membership.
  • Managing a schedule of regular appeals and fundraising events and activities.
  • Nurturing relations with local organisations to attract sponsorship, donations or other forms of corporate support.
  • Supporting local fundraising volunteers through the creation of a "friends" group.
  • Preparing and submitting funding applications for specific projects to a range of charitable trusts and company foundations.

The position requires an experienced and talented individual to take forward this work for the Trust. You will have a solid background in fundraising, especially from individuals, corporates and trusts and foundations. This experience should (preferably) have been gained with an environmental / leisure organisation operating in a charitable environment. You will be competent at presenting a clear and compelling pitch to potential funders both in writing and in person. Your determination, tenacity and proactive attitude will be key to the realisation of our fundraising potential from these key sources.
