About NICE
NICE is a leading UK charity based in Birmingham, dedicated to improving the lives of people with movement disorders. We work with over 300 families affected by conditions such as cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s, stroke and MS and push the boundaries of human potential every day.

A lack, loss or difficulty with movement affects every aspect of daily life. We find that people with disabilities frequently spend much of their time being assessed for what they can’t do, rather than the potential they have. NICE is different; we take a “can do” approach and teach individuals, through conductive education, the life skills to be the very best they can be and help them to reach their potential.

To secure and develop our services into the future and be there for families in real need, we are looking for an experienced professional with a track record in securing income from trusts, foundations and events as well as working as part of a small but dedicated team – would you like to join the “NICE” family and help us sustain and attract new supporters to champion our cause?

About the role
This is an established role within our small fundraising and marketing team at NICE, which makes a big difference to the families we support. You will be based at our specialist centre and will have the opportunity to meet the families who benefit from NICE’s unique services and get to know the heart of who we are.

You will be responsible for maintaining and managing relationships with new and existing trust and foundation stakeholders to maximise agreed targets and ensure sustainability of our NICE services. Through your creative approach you will not only deepen relationships with current funders but spark new and meaningful relationships with trust and foundation prospects. Being an excellent communicator you will engage and motivate donors through telephone, face to face and written contact and will also provide a first class donor experience to funders at all stages of the supporter care journey from an initial enquiry phone call right through to reporting on the impact of the donation or grant.

In conjunction with the wider fundraising team, you will  also play a key role in NICE’s event strategy involving project managing your own event portfolio in line with agreed budgets, helping to recruit individuals  to NICE events and contribute to the development of specific marketing material required including newsletter and social media content.

Being a small charity with a big heart there will always be opportunities to get involved in other aspects of the fundraising strategy giving you the potential to develop your experience, particularly within trusts and events fundraising.

About you
You will be a driven and confident fundraising professional with a proven track record of securing gifts and grants from trust and foundations. With a flexible attitude you will be used to contributing to more than one income stream and will be used to managing a varied workflow including event management. Your creative outlook and ability to cultivate long term relationships will enable you to seize opportunities to maximise both restricted and unrestricted income and look to the future to ensure the sustainability of NICE’s pioneering work. You will have the talent to produce emotive, engaging and compelling copy for trust and foundation applications to ensure your approaches stand out to funders. You will be used to a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure, often without close supervision. Being a very small team, it is vital you are team player and adopt a “can do” approach.
