Are you an experienced community or challenge events fundraiser wanting to to drive community fundraising in North Wales for the only independent cancer research charity in North West England and North Wales? We are seeking an exceptional fundraiser with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Welsh.

North West Cancer Research is tacking some of the toughest forms of cancer in the region. Our mission is to stop cancer sooner and we do this by supporting world class cancer research locally.

With an ambitious new strategy in place - and a desire for further growth, North West Cancer Research has committed to funding more than £13million worth of cancer research projects over the next five years.  

Based in Bangor, the role of community fundraiser will require you to build relationships and maximise opportunities for increased engagement as well as working closely with our valued supporter groups.

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Stimulating, encouraging and supporting fundraising activities in the community
  • Working with student groups to identify fundraising opportunities around the Bangor University site, contributing to any University based awards schemes
  • Identifying opportunities to raise awareness of the charity including giving talks, attending local events and networking events
  • Community fundraising administration including database management, sending out agreements, donor information, activity packs and thank you letters 

The successful applicant will:

  • Have demonstrable experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal English and Welsh communication skills
  • Have excellent organisational skills
  • Have demonstrable experience of maximising supporter relations
  • Be flexible and able to travel throughout the region and work evening and weekends as required
  • Have a full UK Driving Licence and access to a car
