Parkinson’s UK is the Parkinson’s support and research charity. Among our greatest strengths are our people, the enthusiasm of our local groups and supporters and the commitment of our staff.

We’re leading the work to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson's and you could be part of helping us achieve this.

To be working in this field at Parkinson’s UK could well be a career high and a life event for all of us – we’re moving fast now to be on the cusp of delivering better treatments and maybe a cure for Parkinson’s within years, not decades, and you would be part of the team that make this possible. What could be a better career reward than that? Our work is that important.

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead our major gifts fundraising program and team, which in 2017 raised over £5.5m. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, you will be responsible for devising, implementing and growing philanthropic income.

Income from trusts’ foundations and high net worth individuals at Parkinson’s UK has grown from £1m in 2009 to over £5.5m last year. Working with many of the world’s most enlightened philanthropists and a stellar team of major gifts fundraisers you will play a key role in managing and growing this vital income that enables Parkinson’s UK to deliver its ambitious goals. Opportunities like this don’t come up very often and to lead major gifts at Parkinson’s UK is to lead one of the best teams in the sector.

Skills, knowledge and experience

The ideal candidate will be someone who is already working in major gifts or a similar fundraising operation. Line managing and team leadership experience is essential, as is familiarity and comfort with working with philanthropist, their advisors, and senior management. You need to be as adept at rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck into the day to day operation of the team as donning evening wear and networking a room of potential donors.

If you have the skills and experience we are looking for we would love to hear from you!
