Role Summary

We are seeking a Philanthropy and Partnerships Officer to support the work of a growing Business Development Team. You will work closely with the (Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager) to scale-up funding and partnerships from restricted sources. You will play a key role in developing and running robust internal systems to support an internal network of international staff in delivering fundraising activities across several continents.  If you are looking for a challenging, fun and exciting opportunity, this role is for you.

With a minimum of 3 years work experience, you will have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, and will support the Institute’s donor acquisition strategy, stewardship programme and with your research and written skills, empower teams through briefings and research profiles. You will work with the leadership, project heads and fundraising teams towards ensuring we build strong and meaningful partnerships.

Role Summary

As Business Development Manager, Institutional, you will be joining a growing team supporting the scale-up of funding and partnerships with institutional donors. As a member of the Institute, you will be joining an international staff of c.200, based in 20 countries.

Working mainly across the Effective Government and Counter-extremism areas, you will help position the Institute for contracts and grants directly, and indirectly through consortia or frameworks. You will work with the leadership, project heads, finance and others to secure funds, running the process starting from opportunity capture, bid writing, to award.

The role will serve as the primary fundraiser for institutional donor funding. This includes managing relationships, leading on the development of narrative reports and broader grant compliance, and providing support to special projects. Above all, we are looking for someone with strong knowledge of relevant donors, and writing skills, who is able to engagingly communicate the progress and impact of the work.
