Brooke

Brooke has launched its ambitious new five-year global strategy following a sustained period of outstanding growth in improving the health and wellbeing of working horses, donkeys and mules across the world. We have achieved this by engaging effectively with communities for better welfare, treatment and veterinary services and through the successful lobbying of key global players to change policy and practice for the mutual benefit of both the animals and their owners – the millions of people whose livelihoods depend on them.

Brooke currently reaches 2 million working animals benefitting 12 million people.

We actively recruit talented individuals who can bring their professional expertise to a growing organisation which prides itself on being a leading animal welfare INGO operating across a growing number of countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia.

The Role

The role sits within our ambitious Philanthropy & Partnerships Team. The Team is responsible for raising income in the UK from high net worth individuals (HNWI’s), charitable trusts and grant-makers to generate income in line with Brooke’s 5 year fundraising strategy to support Brooke’s international programmes.

The Philanthropy and Partnerships Officer (High Value Supporters) will build excellent and profitable, long-term fundraising relationships with a diverse portfolio of high value supporters who make gifts between £1,000 and £10,000. The Officer will also identify and provide prospects for the Team’s Major Value Individual and Trusts portfolios.

The role will test and develop a range of traditional and new marketing techniques, appeals and approaches and will complement these with cultivation and stewardship activities, learning what works and adapting the programme accordingly.

The role will liaise with the wider Fundraising and Communications and Programmes Departments to explore opportunities for cross-selling and maximising fundraising opportunities.

Criteria

You will be a motivated and driven individual with experience of establishing excellent working relationships with high value supporters and generating income in line with annual income targets.

You will be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing and able to adapt your approach to the needs of your audience. In particular, you will be highly skilled in research and analytics and able to present data in an appropriate and effective manner.

Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines, you will be able to work well individually and also as part of a team, supporting your colleagues as appropriate.

If you are interested in the role and meet the criteria, we look forward to hearing from you.
