Population Matters is looking for an experienced and proactive Fundraising Manager to join our small but rapidly expanding team.  This is a brand new role and is responsible for developing and executing Population Matter’s Fundraising Strategy.

This is a sole fundraising position so the remit is wide and varied across the broad spectrum of fundraising strands, such as individual, trusts, major donor programmes, regular appeals, legacies and high-net worth donors.

Your entrepreneurial spirit allows you to spot trends and opportunities for developing and maximising fundraising activity for Population Matters.

You are an experienced fundraiser, with a proven track record in fundraising, marketing, membership, writing proposals, and high-end face-to-face relations with funders.  You will be a self-starter, a confident communicator and have a track-record of managing and developing great stakeholder relationships with donors from a varied range of backgrounds.  You also have an eye for attention to detail to ensure accuracy and credibility in your work.

You see challenges rather than obstacles, and proactively and methodically work through them in moving yourself and Population Matter’s towards its vision.

Population Matters works as a virtual team, so this role is home-based, with essential regular travel into London (mainly Central).  You will manage your time effectively across conflicting priorities.  You will also be able to provide sound advice to senior management, staff and the Board, build effective working relationships, use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others and be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Population Matters is an inclusive and diversity-friendly employer. We value difference, promote equality and challenge discrimination, enhancing our organisational capability. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, colour, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age or any other category protected by law.

We are open to suggestions from candidates as to their terms of working, depending on their experience and proven working methods. We have envisaged this role as ideally a full-time post – but that is not set in stone.

The deadline for applications is midday on 11/03/2020. Interviews will be held w/c 16/03/2020.

Please submit a covering letter of no more than 500 words to accompany your CV, detailing how you match our requirements and explaining what you will bring to the role.

Due to our size it may not be possible to respond to every application.  If you have not heard from us by 16/03/2020 you should assume that, on this occasion, your application has been unsuccessful.  Thank you for your interest in Population Matters.
