If you believe that life isn’t always black and white and that as humans, we’re defined by more than one action - then we’re the organisation for you.

Around the world, thousands of British people are held in prisons where their very survival rests on support from the outside world. That’s why Prisoners Abroad exists. We’re here to make sure every British prisoner overseas gets the basics they need to stay alive and well. Like food, water and medicine. We’re here to support family through the trauma and stigma of having a relative in prison overseas, and we’re here to support those who are deported back to the UK so they aren’t sleeping on the streets, that they have food and have access to medical help. For some, we’re all they have.

It doesn’t matter to us the reasons they’re there – and we never judge. We just do whatever we can to make sure they survive, mentally and physically. Because we believe in human rights, no matter what. We’re for saving lives, not taking them. We’re for upholding dignity instead of stripping it away. And we’re for being there for those who have no-one else to help them - no matter what.

This is a fantastic opportunity and an exciting time to be joining our fundraising team as we grow and nurture our supporter relationships so that they feel part of the journey our service users are on. You will play a central role in shaping our digital campaigns which are really taking off, so you’ll be developing engaging communications about our life-saving human rights work.

To be considered for this role, you will have a track record of developing and delivering a cohesive individual giving programme using including direct mail and digital, giving consideration to audiences, propositions and channels.

You need to be an excellent communicator with an eye for detail and the ability to build an online community to expand our reach and supporter base. Experience of using a fundraising database to segment and select data, produce reports and analyse information is essential, so that we are communicating to the right people at the right time.

You will lead on managing relationships from day-to-day donations through to legacy gifts, working closely with our service delivery team to ensure that supporters benefit from a fully integrated stewardship programme of information, events and opportunities.

Prisoners Abroad is a friendly and focused place to work offering 30 days’ annual leave + bank holidays and 6.5% pension contribution as well as a range of other benefits.
