The University of Sheffield - A world class university in a unique city

Head of Development Data & Insight

Do you enjoy persuading people of the strategic value of data? Are you looking to apply your leadership skills in a changing fast paced environment? How about applying this passion as a leader of a diverse, highly motivated team in one of the best workplaces in the UK?

If the answer to these questions is yes and you’d like to play a leading role in placing philanthropy at the heart of the University of Sheffield, then we would love to hear from you.

The Development, Alumni Relations and Events department (DARE) is seeking a strategic leader to galvanise the Data and Information team who underpin the success of the department, as they scale their ambitions to deliver a university-wide fundraising and supporter engagement campaign.

We are looking for an individual with the ambition to transform and champion the team’s visibility, impact and reputation for excellent service, and for making a strategic difference in support of the University and the department. You will have expertise in data management and an understanding of the strategic value of data, experience of building relationships and working collaboratively, and possess excellent leadership and management skills.  Your experience may have been gained outside of the university environment, however you understand the value and power of philanthropy for higher education.

The University of Sheffield has a global reputation for the standard of its teaching and research, and recently has been ranked 13th best university in the UK and 75th in the world (QS World University Rankings). As a place to work, Sheffield is the only UK university to feature in The Sunday Times 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For 2018. As a Corporate Service department, DARE has established links with 170,000 alumni and raised nearly £50 million in donations since 2002.
