Head of Development Operations

University of the Arts London

Holborn, London

Competitive Salary and Benefits

The University of the Arts London (UAL) is a global leader in arts, design, fashion and communications.

The 2019 QS Rankings for Art and Design rank us as second in the world, as well as the world’s leading art and design university with undergraduate provision.  We have a clear strategic vision set out until 2022 which is focussed on providing transformative education, developing world-leading research and enterprise, becoming the centre of public debate for the future of arts, design, fashion and communication, and building an inspirational, physical environment that supports its students, staff and wider communities.

To support this ambition, we are in the final planning stages of our first-ever comprehensive fundraising campaign.  The campaign is part of the university’s largest-ever investment in Development posts and activity, and support for our work across the university could not be stronger.  Our fundraising activity since 2014 demonstrates a steady, upward trajectory and we have achieved significant results already.  We are now seeking 3 talented individuals in a Head of Development Operation, Head of Campaign and Head of Events, to join and help us fulfil UAL’s potential.

The Head of Development Operations will play a significant role in ensuring the success of the wider department. This role is a key appointment within the team and will provide oversight of the Development Department as a whole across fundraising and alumni relations activities.

Your expertise in data and information management and an understanding of their strategic value, experience of building relationships and working collaboratively, and excellent leadership and management skills will underpin your success in this role. Whilst your experience may have been developed outside of a university setting, an understanding of the value of philanthropy for higher education will be important.

If you are interested in a unique chance to play a part in a substantial fundraising campaign which will change the landscape of London and make a significant impact on the future of this institution and Britain’s creative future, we’d like to hear from you.  To view the information pack for this unique opportunity, please visit the Richmond Associates website or to arrange a confidential discussion with the consulting team please contact Sonja Dunphy, Managing Director at Richmond Associates on +44 (0)20 3617 9240.

CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS IS 9AM TUESDAY, 22 OCTOBER 2019

We particularly welcome applications from minority ethnic candidates as they are under-represented within UAL at this level.
