Natural History Museum

Head of Philanthropy

South Kensington, London

Competitive salary and benefits

There has never been a more exciting time to join the Natural History Museum. With the launch of the spectacular new Hintze Hall in July 2017, and its ground-breaking scientific research in the national and international media, the Museum has embarked on a decade of transformation. Innovative  public engagement and science projects are underway and showcase their aim to be a natural history museum of the future.

In order to deliver this ambitious vision, we are seeking an experienced Head of Philanthropy who will build on the successes of recent years, and lead and inspire the Major Gifts team to deliver a significant increase in philanthropic engagement from individuals and Trusts & Foundations at all levels.

With a proven track record in raising major gifts at the 6-figure level and above, you are a strategic thinker and operator, and a proactive individual with the ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team.  Your sophisticated communication style will underpin your ability to confidently convey the work of the Natural History Museum, and your talent in building long-lasting beneficial relationships will be instrumental to your success in this post.

If you have experience motivating, developing and getting the best out of a major giving fundraising team at a time of unprecedented ambition and demand, we would love to hear from you. You will join a high performing Development and Communications directorate and play a key role in its future growth and success.

Closing date for applications: 9am on Wednesday 28th March 2018.
