The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has an exciting opportunity for a senior individual to develop and deliver a fundraising programme for the RCP, covering philanthropic giving and corporate partnerships, which will see significant new funds secured to support RCP priority projects.

About the Role

The Director of Development will develop, lead and shape the strategy for fundraising at the RCP. The successful candidate will be an experienced senior fundraiser, capable of working confidently and independently across the senior leadership of the RCP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the RCP’s fundraising programme across philanthropic giving and corporate partnerships
  • Work closely with the president, chief executive officer and other senior colleagues and volunteers to develop the RCP’s fundraising strategy
  • Provide hands-on leadership on the acquisition and development of new high-value relationships with individuals, foundations and corporate partners.
  • Articulate the RCP’s strategic vision and priorities in a compelling manner

About you

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Relevant fundraising qualifications, courses, training and memberships
  • Strong organisational skills to maximise outcomes against multiple competing priorities
  • Highly developed networking skills to build and sustain a network of supporters for the RCP
  • Track record of developing a fundraising strategy over time, demonstrating innovation and creativity as well as knowledge and experience of successful programmes from peer organisations
