Saferworld is an independent international organisation that works to prevent and reduce violent conflict and promote co-operative approaches to security. Established in 1989, we work with civil society, international organisations and governments to encourage and support effective policies and practices through advocacy, research and policy development and through supporting the actions of others. Our ultimate focus is to reduce the impact of conflict and insecurity on the poorest and most vulnerable in society.

Despite extremely challenging circumstances, our programme in Yemen will see a gradual expansion over the next three years – not only geographically, but also thematically as we enter into new exciting partnerships. As a result we are seeking a Grants Manager to manage the compliance process of Saferworld’s Yemen grants, including ensuring systems, processes and workflows are in place, and delivering high quality and timely reporting.

In future, the role will also support the grant management of regional projects (where required), but the focus, particularly over the next 6-12 months, will be to support projects in Yemen.

We are looking for someone who can support the set-up of these grants, manage donor reporting and compliance, as well as contribute to setting up and updating processes and workflows to ensure high quality financial and narrative reporting.  The successful candidate will have proven experience of project and budget management preferably in an INGO setting. S/he will also have experience of developing and maintaining systematic and transparent records in order to keep track of projects and for accountability and auditing. Fluency In English (written and spoken) is essential; understanding of Arabic would be an advantage.
