Job Title: Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Manager

Working Hours: 36 hours per week, some evening and weekend work may be required
Salary and Scale: £24,002-£27,470 (SCP 27-31)

Overall Purpose of the Job

To support the Director of Fundraising in implementing the strategy for raising funds from charitable trusts and foundations, and to work inter-departmentally to raise funds from public bodies.

The Trust and Statutory Fundraising Manager will work closely with the Director of Fundraising in researching potential funders, drafting proposals, stewarding funders and providing reports. They will provide key support to the Director of Fundraising in creating the strategy, maintaining databases and the creation of a timeline and forecasting/budgeting.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research potential trusts and foundations to support Sage Gateshead and its programmes of work.
  • Work with the Director of Fundraising to approach appropriate trusts and foundations for support
  • Steward existing donors to help secure long-term support.
  • Ensure accurate financial records about trusts on our relationship management system (Tessitura).
  • Work inter-departmentally to approach statutory bodies

  2. Work with the Director of Fundraising to approach appropriate trusts and foundations for support.
  3. Steward existing donors to help secure long-term support.
  4. Ensure accurate financial records about trusts and statutory sources on our relationship management system.
  5. Work inter-departmentally to approach statutory bodies.
  6. To undertake other duties appropriate for the post and in line with the organisation.
  7. To accept appropriate individual responsibility for the observance, promotion and implementation of Health and Safety, Customer Care, Equality and Diversity, Dignity at Work and other Sage Gateshead policies.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required

Essential (required):

  • Minimum 18 months trusts fundraising experience.
  • Knowledge of the arts and charitable sectors.
  • Good analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to form good internal relationships and work with colleagues to turn “needs” into “fundraising asks”.
  • Excellent IT literacy and competence across Microsoft applications.
  • Experience of using a Fundraising database.

Desirable (optional):

  • A passion for, and knowledge of, popular and contemporary music and the arts.
  • Relevant contacts within the sector/media.
  • A full, clean driving license and the use of a vehicle.
