We are delighted to offer the vacancy of full time Senior Major Donor Officerto focus on major donor fundraising as part of the High Value Giving Team.

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity. We now help nearly 190,000 cats and kittens each year through our network of over 250 volunteer-run branches and 34 adoption centres and homing centres.

Over the last couple of years, we have established a successful major donor programme, but there is still the potential for further development. We have ambitious plans to grow sustainable net income each year, to help the thousands of cats that need us.

In this exciting role you will manage a portfolio of high value relationships, including both existing and new donors.

In addition, the Senior Major Donor Officer will:

- Work with the Major Donor Manager to increase revenue
- Develop bespoke cultivation strategies for each donor
- Raise funds for capital appeals and projects as well as core funding
- Help organise and manage major donor events and develop the major donor communications programme
- Ensure all data is recorded accurately on our CRM database, in keeping with data protection legislation
- Work alongside an existing Philanthropy Officer

Whilst adopting the Institute of Fundraising Code of Conduct in all aspects of the role.

In common with all posts, ensure compliance with Cats Protection’s policies and procedures, statutory obligations and best practice, and to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required by the Chief Executive. This job description may be subject to review in the light of the developing organisation and in consultation with the post holder.

The successful candidate will have worked in charity fundraising for at least 4 years, and have at least 2 years dedicated major donor fundraising experience, with a strong understanding of major donor fundraising principles. We are looking for extensive, demonstrable experience of developing relationships with supporters and high level networking with both existing and new donors. The Senior Major Donor Officer will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to problem solve and prioritise, with good planning and organisational skills. In addition, the post holder will need a positive, resilient attitude, be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and will be flexible and adaptable.
