The Role

The Raspberry Pi Foundation’s mission is to put the power of digital making into the hands of people all over the world. Since launching our first product in February 2012, we have sold over twelve million Raspberry Pi computers and helped kickstart a global movement to get more people involved in computing and digital making. We’ve trained thousands of teachers and engaged hundreds of thousands of young people in our educational programmes, including through our network of over 7,000 Code Clubs. Our free educational resources are used by millions of people every year.

The work of the Raspberry Pi Foundation is only possible because we are part of a fantastic and growing community that shares our mission. That community includes a wide range of individuals and organisations that support our work by donating their expertise, providing funding and support in kind, and much, much more. We are now looking for an experienced senior partnerships manager to lead the development and execution of the Foundation's partnerships and fundraising strategy.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will work closely with the Chief Executive and senior management team to nurture existing partnerships and develop new ones with organisations and individuals that share our mission. You will also help us expand our partnerships internationally, including helping to establish a US-based "Friends of" organisation that will lead our fundraising efforts in North America.

The ideal candidate will have experience of partnerships in either the education or technology sectors. While we expect you to come with an impressive track record, you will be joining a fast-growing non-profit that offers unparalleled opportunities for development and growth.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a unique place to work. We have a fantastic team and we work hard to give them the environment and support they need to thrive and develop.

Main responsibilities

  • Work with the CEO and senior management team to develop the Foundation’s partnerships and fundraising strategy, and lead the day to day delivery of that strategy.
  • Proactively develop new opportunities for partnerships, working across the Foundation to identify prospective partners and develop relationships that lead to new collaborations.
  • Support the CEO and senior management team as they develop new donor relationships to secure grants and donations.
  • Work with the CEO and Executive Director of RPF North America to establish the Friends of Raspberry Pi 501(c)(3) organisation and develop the strategy for partnership and fundraising in the US.
  • Engage with the Foundation’s existing partners and prospective partners, building effective long-term relationships. Develop and implement a communications plan that supports the partnership strategy.
  • Prepare funding applications, proposals, and presentations as required.
  • Support a culture of effective partner and donor management across the Foundation, including implementing processes and controls that monitor and report on outcomes, expenditure, and other commitments.
  • Work with the communications team to ensure that partnerships are properly recognised.
  • Monitor performance, including preparing regular partnership and fundraising reports for management and trustees.
  • Lead and develop the team, currently consisting of one direct report, but with the expectation that this would grow over time.
