Combat Stress, the UK’s leading mental health charity for veterans, is looking for an experienced, influential and highly motivated Senior Trust and Foundations Officer to generate funds and support and develop income from trusts, foundations and other grant-making organisations for our Fundraising Department.

Here at Combat Stress, we provide free specialist clinical treatment and welfare support to ex-servicemen and women across the UK with mental health conditions. This treatment is provided at our three short-stay centres, while we also offer practical and clinical support in the community, plus a 24-hour helpline. 

Working as part of our dynamic Trusts and Foundations team and reporting to the Director of Income Generation, this pivotal role will see you maintain and increase the support of grant-making trusts, statutory funders and other grant making bodies to meet core funding needs, special projects and capital appeals, while continually identifying further opportunities for growth from the trusts and grants sector.

Developing strong relationships with existing and new funders is a vital component of this role, as is contributing to our wider communications needs by drafting and coordinating the production of corporate literature and presenting our work to trusts, foundations and other grant-making bodies.

A proactive, meticulous and committed professional who works effectively in a collaborative team, you will possess previous charity experience and a proven track record of securing grant income and identifying suitable projects to present to potential funders. Educated to degree level, you must be an outstanding communicator, both verbal and written, and boast excellent research and presentation skills. Impressive interpersonal and relationship-building skills are also vital.
