We’re looking for an engaging individual with impressive fundraising or marketing account management experience to join us as a Senior Account Manager and lead and develop high-profile corporate partnerships.

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We’re here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.

Fundraising is at the heart of Shelter’s success. Indeed, in 2016/17 our fundraising division generated gross income of £33 million and has plans to grow this to £45 million by 2019/20. Our Corporate Partnerships team is split into two areas. New Partnerships generates new business through a range of corporate fundraising mechanics, while Account Management, where this role is based, lead the development of long-term strategic corporate partnerships. And, because the division as a whole continues to grow and develop, now is a particularly exciting time to join us.

About the Role

The challenge here is to manage and develop a range of high-profile corporate partnerships, with a focus on managing our long-term commercial partnership with M&S and the development of our current partnership with HSBC. You’ll also have management responsibility for two line reports, help with the development of a team strategy and deputise for the Head of Account Management when required. Establishing priorities and developing clear, efficient and logical plans to achieve goals will be key. So too will monitoring performance and progress against objectives and taking action to ensure deadlines and outcomes are achieved. And, when it comes to taking responsibility for reporting on income from your partners, evaluating the team’s activities and ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are kept, again, we'll count on you to deliver.

About you
This is a great opportunity to further your career in corporate fundraising and work with companies to deliver exciting and innovative partnerships, you’ll need experience of managing large strategic partnerships. We’ll also be looking for the ability to apply commercial and financial principles to improve business performance. Ideally, you have experience of managing staff, setting objectives and managing performance, with knowledge of digital marketing processes also preferred. What is for certain is that you’re great at proactively establishing priorities and developing clear, efficient and logical plans to achieve goals. Monitoring performance and progress against agreed objectives and taking action to ensure deadlines and outcomes are achieved also comes naturally to you, as does report writing and conveying complex ideas succinctly and persuasively.

Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, the possibility of flexible working, enhanced family friendly policies and significant opportunities for learning and development.
