We are St Giles Trust, a leading lived-experience charity which uses our former clients, after intensive training and selection, to become our future paid caseworkers. We are now looking for an ambitious and influential Head of Fundraising to join us and become an integral part of our Senior Management Team.  Here, you will bring your fresh perspectives and impressive track record winning sizeable grants from major funders and charitable trusts to deliver an effective fundraising strategy that will take St Giles Trust into a new funding direction which will enable us to reach greater numbers of people in need of our award-winning services.

About this pivotal role
This is a rare opportunity for a talented and experienced candidate to stamp their mark and offer new ideas..

Working at Head Office and reporting to the Assistant Chief Executive, the successful candidate will drive the organisation’s proactive research, targeting and recruitment of new charitable and corporate funding, while also providing expert assistance to Senior Management Team colleagues with statutory bids.

Ensuring existing sponsor and supporter relationships are maintained and developed across the Fundraising Team is a vital element of the position, as is taking an active role in the promotion and strategic planning of the Trust ensuring that fundraising targets and objectives are fully aligned with the Trust’s own ambitions.

Utilising fully your excellent leadership skills, you will manage, motivate and effectively lead the Fundraising Team to achieve their individual and team objectives, as well as contributing to the leadership of the organisation as part of the Senior Management Team.

To secure this unique opportunity, you must have:

  • A wealth of experience driving fundraising activity in similar organisations and successfully winning sizeable grants from major funders, ideally including the Big Lottery and major charitable trusts
  • In-depth knowledge of the major trusts and foundations and grant giving priorities/programmes, with an ability to draw synergies with the work of St Giles Trust
  • Proven management experience and inspiring leadership qualities
  • First-class relationship-building skills, especially at a senior level with existing and potential funders
  • Outstanding communication, analytical and research skills
  • Sympathy with the aims and ethos of St Giles Trust as an organisation
