Job Title: Fundraising Coordinator

Responsible to: Fundraising and Communications Manager 

Line Management: None 

Salary: £22,000 to £25,000

Role summary

To support the fundraising team to deliver the fundraising strategy and maximise opportunities to realise growth and achieve our targets – both financial and strategic.

The Fundraising Coordinator will be first point of contact for fundraising queries. We need someone who is a friendly, outgoing communicator, able to handle queries from our donors, volunteers and the general public.

The role will provide general administrative support to ensure annual Christmas Appeal is a smooth running operation – from overseeing volunteers, opening post, processing cheques, thanking our donors and ensuring we have efficient processes in place to manage the high volumes of queries, traffic and donations we receive over the Christmas period. Across the rest of the year, the focus will shift to support the team with fundraising in various forms – from Individual Giving, to trust fundraising and helping us to deliver key events, powerful communications and new partnership opportunities.

Main duties and responsibilities 

  • To assist the fundraising team to deliver the fundraising strategy and support the organisation to deliver the overall organisational aims and objectives
  • To carry out day to day tasks such as opening post, processing cheques and banking
  • Act as first point of contact for internal and external queries, providing information and acknowledgements and thank you letters/cards
  • To oversee our volunteers, mostly during our busy Christmas Appeal period, and support in the recruitment, training and management of volunteers
  • Maintain and update our donor database, Donorfy to ensure records are kept accurate and up to date
  • To have a sound understanding of, and adhere to, Gift Aid – in terms of record keeping, securing, scanning and storing declarations on site, for any future HMRC audit
  • To assist in managing our website and ensure the website and social media sites are updated with relevant content and issues are addressed quickly
  • To administer new Direct Debits as and when necessary and ensure our database is kept up to date
  • To carry out research to support the team, in regards trust fundraising
