An exciting position has opened up at the much loved local charity, Stick ‘n’ Step on the Wirral. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious team and contribute towards the inspiring support that Stick ‘n’ Step provide.

Cerebral palsy is a condition that affects muscle control and movement. It is usually caused by an injury to the brain before, during or after birth. Children with cerebral palsy have difficulties in controlling muscles and movements as they grow and develop.

Stick ‘n’ Step offer free weekly conductive education sessions to children and young people from across the North West. Delivered from their specialised centres in Wirral and Runcorn, the sessions are designed to help each a child to reach their personal potential regarding their confidence, mobility and independence.

Reporting to the newly appointed Head of Fundraising you will lead on all community fundraising engagement across the Wirral and Merseyside region. The Community Fundraiser will co-ordinate fundraising activity through supporting and facilitating the development of fundraising volunteers from across the region.

Stick ‘n’ Step is completely independent and receives all of its funding from the generosity of local people, communities, businesses and grant making trusts. They work with 98 children and families on a weekly basis during term time, and it costs in the region of £4,500 per child per year to offer their vital services. This role presents a real opportunity to see the difference that your fundraising efforts make on a day-to-day basis.

Who we are looking for

As a passionate and proactive person you will be target driven and motivated to seek out new opportunities to grow fundraising activity and income. You will have a good understanding of community fundraising strategies and a strong track record of excellent supporter engagement.

In particular, Stick ‘n’ Step is looking for someone with exceptional communication skills, with the ability to adapt to a range of different audiences via written, spoken and online platforms. Candidates must also have an organised approach and be able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. 

You will be impactful, supportive and show genuine empathy with the families supported by Stick ‘n’ Step, passionately using your skills to make a difference to children and young people with Cerebral Palsy.

Hours of work: 9.30 – 17.00 (35 hours per week)

Salary: £20,000-£24,000 depending on experience

Location: 3 Croxteth Avenue, Wallasey, CH44 5UL

Regular travel to our Runcorn centre, and across the North West will be required
