Are you an experienced and highly motivated Philanthropy and Events Executive, if so this is an excellent opportunity to accelerate your career and support the Philanthropy Team at Sue Ryder! Join us in this fantastic brand new role and help us ensure that our events and major donor programmes continue to raise valuable income for Sue Ryder enabling us to provide care and support for more people.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Philanthropy, with a dotted line to the Philanthropy and Events Manager, you will be supporting with the planning, delivery, management and logistics of national events including our Gala Fundraising event and the Annual Lecture.  You will also support with stewardship of our major donors by delivering an individually bespoke programme of communications with compelling updates on our work.

Key responsibilities
•  Administrative support of project team actions and co-ordinating overall day to day support for the operational aspects of events, including follow up actions from events.
•  Supporting with the development of internal briefings, liaising with the Prospect Development Officer on biographies, actions and outcomes for key guests attending events
•  Liaising with the Hospice Fundraising Teams to support local events 
•  Support the Philanthropy team in developing and delivering a planned programme of communications for existing supporters, including updates on existing work, event invitations and planned financial asks  
•  Ensure that the Raisers’ Edge supporter database is updated with all relevant information with a thorough understanding of GDPR 

About You
With significant experience of supporting the logistics and delivery of fundraising events, you will be capable of successfully juggling multiple projects at once. You will ideally have the knowledge to write funding applications or donor reports with an understanding of the motivations of donors, high value and high profile volunteers and influencers. What is essential is to be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for fundraising in order to succeed in the role and progress your career with us.
