This is a great opportunity either for those with some experience as a Selection or Marketing Analyst and looking to develop their abilities, or for someone looking for their first Data and Insight role. We need a keen individual with an eye for detail to work with our Individual Giving team to build the most effective fundraising campaigns possible and to play a key role in ensuring that data quality across the organisation is as good as it can be. We’re looking for a person who has enthusiasm to learn and develop and who is willing to share learning across the team.

Purpose of the role

Our Supporter Insight Analysts have the opportunity to work on a variety of data and insight work across the organisation, but this role will have a particular emphasis on building campaign selections, monitoring data quality and data processing.

We’ve recently developed a new organisational strategy with a key focus on supporter experience and maximising impact, with the Supporter Insight team likely to play an ever-more-important role.

Main Responsibilities

  • To build accurate and effective financial and non-financial campaign selections using our CRM database (NG) and to provide reporting, insight and analysis.
  • To help monitor, maintain and actively improve the quality of data that we use throughout the organisation.
  • To help with data transfers, imports and exports within the organisation and between other organisations.
  • To help maximise the impact of the organisation’s work and the positive experience of our supporters.

Key Skills and Attributes

We are able to provide some training, so prior experience isn't absolutely essential - although any experience of marketing selections and/or experience with NG would definitely be a bonus, as would ability to write SQL.

  • Attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm for data and marketing selections.
  • A high degree of numeric and technical literacy, with strong skills in any of the following areas being a particular bonus: Excel, SQL, CRM databases, Marketing Selections and statistical knowledge.
  • To carry out the role in a way that reflects Friends of the Earth’s Supporter Promise and organisational values.

About the Team

You will be working alongside two other Supporter Insight Analysts, reporting to our Supporter Insight Manager. On a day to day basis you will be working particularly closely with our Individual Giving and Supporter Care teams. Our new organisational strategy means that it is very likely that the team will be growing in the near future.

What we Offer

  • Generous holiday allowance – all employees begin at 25 days plus 8 bank holidays (pro rota) with us. This increases a day each year up to 30 days.
  • Flexi hours – we offer flexi hours to our employees to ensure we offer a good work/life balance
  • Pension scheme – we match our employee’s contribution up to 7%. We also offer all employees free pensions advice through our independent provider
  • Life assurance scheme – we offer a supportive scheme which gives some assurance to many employees
  • Loans – we offer various loans for season tickets, buying a bicycle and personal development
  • Childcare vouchers – we work with a provider to offer you support with your childcare needs
  • Flexible working – we have a very inclusive flexible working policy which works to support the organisation and the employee
  • Removal expenses - agreed on a case by case basis
  • Employee Assistance Programme - free and confidential legal, financial or emotional advice. We also offer CBT support.

Diversity and equal opportunities

Friends of the Earth is an equal opportunities employer and we are especially keen to encourage applications from people currently under-represented in the environment movement including: black and minority ethnic people; disabled people; lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people; and woman in senior positions. Do contact us as we really do want you to see how you can become part of the Friends of the Earth team.
