Job Description

We’re looking for an individual who wants to make a difference by helping us to create fantastic communities where people thrive. As a Community Development Project Officer you’ll be joining a dynamic, fast paced innovative team who want to help to nurture and build sustainable communities where people want to live.

Community Development Project Officer
Salary: £32,000
Based: Pilgrim House,
Billericay, with travel to other locations

We understand that the role of Community Development Project Officer can be demanding, with a very varied workload, but we’re looking for an individual who likes a challenge, who is a great communicator, and most importantly is customer focused. In return, you’ll join an organisation and a team of individuals who will support and offer help and advice where possible.

We want our Community Development Project Officer to help us to develop environments where individuals can come together, mix and create vibrant sustainable communities. This role will be responsible for understanding our communities’ needs, developing partnerships with external organisations and working alongside our development teams to support their work on regeneration across Essex.

You will be required to have a DBS check. Knowledge of TP tracker, strong I.T and fundraising skills and experience of managing a budget would be desirable.

By way of background Swan Housing operates in Essex and East London and manages over 10,000 homes with plans in place to deliver more new homes as part of an ambitious three year strategy. We create communities, we build and sell new homes and provide a range of services to our customers.

We do this by being innovative and enterprising. At the heart of what we do is our social purpose so any surplus we make gets reinvested into core services so that we continue to make a difference.

We are accredited as a Gold standard Investor in People and recently ranked as 34th in the Times Top 100 Best not for profit companies to work for. In addition to having some great colleagues and a rewarding job we also offer a wide range of benefits including a Pension scheme, Private Healthcare and Life assurance. There is a generous holiday entitlement and we are committed to training and developing all of our employees.

If you think you have what it takes we’re excited to meet you!
