TEFT (The Educational Frontier Trust) are looking for a part-time fundraising consultant to help boost their fundraising activities and recommend new approaches.

ABOUT US:

TEFT have been active for seventeen years, working in partnership with Kisima Secondary School in northern Kenya. In this time, it has been highly effective at generating funding for the school and providing scholarships for the hundreds of students. In 2019, Kisima School was ranked as the third best secondary school in Kenya.

TEFT does not employ any staff and relies on the support of volunteers and consultants. Our fundraising model to date has been via personal and church networks, which has been highly effective. However, in order to develop and sustain our work we are looking for a fundraising consultant to help us expand our reach beyond these networks and provide support in either of the following areas:

  • Individual / Private Donor Fundraising
  • Grant Fundraising (via Trust, Foundation and/or government donor)

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Individual / Private Donor Fundraising:

This role will seek to:

  • Recruit new individual donors to one of our featured fundraising products.
  • Identify routes and opportunities to access new donors and extend our fundraising reach.
  • Create the necessary resources and recommend adaption of existing resources to achieve the above two points.
  • Develop and deliver fundraising emails (quarterly) to our existing donor database in order to promote fundraising appeals.
  • Provide support for the planning and execution of fundraising events.

Grant Fundraising:

This role will seek to:

  • Identify Grant (Trust, Foundation, government donor) opportunities for the charity.
  • Lead on the development of proposals for the above opportunities.
  • Develop a bank of resources and materials that will be needed to populate future Grant opportunities.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

We are seeking a fundraising professional who has:

  • At least three years’ experience in fundraising roles within the UK based charity sector.
  • A demonstrable expertise in either Individual / Private fundraising or Grant acquisition.
  • Strong writing skills and a working knowledge of effective online engagement tactics.
  • Experience working within a Christian charity is desirable but not essential.
  • Familiarity with MailChimp is also desirable.

TIMING AND RENUMERATION:

  • We are seeking a consultant to work one day per week for the next 12 months).
  • Salary available is between £100 and £150 per day. Candidates will be expected to submit quotes as part of their application.
  • The successful consultant will also be invited to attend some TEFT board meetings (usually held on a weekday evening).
