An exciting opportunity to take your community or individual giving fundraising career to the next level. With the opportunity to lead the implementation of a new fundraising strategy and further develop your leadership skills, you will take responsibility for driving fundraising forward across the organisation.

The position of Senior Fundraising Manager will play a central role in the next phase of our development as an organisation. The role will drive a sustained growth in income to enable us to deliver our strategic plan to reduce the time to diagnosis of EDS in the UK (currently 10 years) and continue to develop our support services, adapting to the needs of the EDS community.

The Senior Fundraising Manager will line manage our Community Fundraising Manager and work closely with the Social Media Manager, creating and leading EDS UK’s first fundraising team.

The role will work closely with the Managing Director to develop an increasingly diverse fundraising approach. This will include implementing our fundraising strategy, including the roll-out of a new CRM and donor stewardship programme and leading the planning, implementation and review of new campaigns and activities. The role will also provide key support to the Managing Director in the development of our philanthropic and corporate giving programme.

The charity must increase its income to deliver meaningful change for people in the UK living with EDS and those yet to be diagnosed and this role will be critical in making that happen.

About You

  • You will have significant community fundraising experience or experience in individual giving
  • You will have people management experience (which can include managing volunteers)
  • You can demonstrate a track record of building relationships with supporters and of generating significant new income through this approach
  • You can demonstrate project management skills
  • You can demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and willingness to contribute to the wider objectives of the charity through working as part of a supportive team
  • You will have plenty of passion and enthusiasm.
  • You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be confident on the phone and in giving presentations
  • Ideally, you will have access to a car and have a full UK driving license. (Team members are reimbursed for their business mileage).
  • You will be able to travel regularly to our office in Borehamwood and throughout the UK on occasion to support fundraising and other events. This may include overnight stays and travel during evenings and at weekends.
