Charity Fundraiser (Part Time)
Home/Field-Based (covering the East Anglia region)

About Us

The Fire Fighters Charity is the organisation that supports the mental, physical and social needs of the members of the UK Fire and Rescue Service community. We recognise that no two people requesting our support do so for the same reason and tailor our service to achieve the best results for each of our beneficiaries.

When the rescuers need it the most, we rescue them.

We’re now looking for a Charity Fundraiser to join us, working approximately 30 hours per month, to visit fire fighters and increase engagement with our charity and cause.

The Benefits

- Salary of £11.86 per hour (approximately £4,269 per annum)
- Flexible working options
- Benefits package
- Support from your Team Leader to succeed in your role
- Take on a rewarding role helping the UK fire and rescue services community

Our service helps everyday heroes recover their lives, whether they are concerned about their mental health and wellbeing, recovering from an injury or illness or need social wellbeing support. Our service is free to access and helps any member of the UK fire services community.

Without donations, our important work would not be possible, and you will play an integral role in ensuring we can support the fire services community for years to come.

What’s more, you’ll be promoting our services to the people we are here to support, ensuring they are fully aware of the help that is at hand, should they ever need us.

The Role

As a Charity Fundraiser, you will raise awareness of our work and increase engagement with fire and rescue service personnel across East Anglia.

Visiting fire stations within your region, you will increase income from regular giving donations, lottery sales and other face-to-face fundraising by delivering presentations on the Fire Fighters Charity to the fire and rescue community.

Reporting to the Community Engagement Team Leader, you will:

- Act as a link between the Charity and fire and rescue community
- Promote our work with passion and enthusiasm
- Share information about the support we can provide

About You

To join us as a Charity Fundraiser, you will need:

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences, including evidence of the ability to deliver presentations in a confident and clear manner
- A full, valid driving licence and the willingness to travel throughout East Anglia

Experience of fundraising or promoting a charity or service would be beneficial to your application.

Other organisations may call this role Community Fundraiser, Community Fundraising & Engagement Officer, Face to Face Fundraiser, Lottery Fundraiser, Regular Giving Fundraiser, Individual Giving Fundraiser, Community Engagement Officer, Fundraising Executive, Community Engagement Executive, or Charity Fundraising Officer.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate must live within East Anglia or be willing to relocate and be flexible to work outside of conventional office hours.

The Charity is an Equal Opportunities employer and we welcome applications from all sections of the community. When recruiting our new team members, regardless of the role, we are looking for people who share our values to help us to achieve our strategic plan.
