Working in and experiencing traumatic situations on a regular basis, making life or death decisions under intense pressure and maintaining close relationships with local communities, there are few roles as psychologically, physically and socially demanding as those in our fire and rescue services.

The Fire Fighters Charity exists to offer specialist lifelong support to members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives.

Ours is a charity that dedicates itself to supporting the everyday heroes, past and present, of the fire services community. We are the people to whom the life savers turn when they need help, whether recovering from physical injury or illness, or from psychological trauma. By supporting them as individuals, they can support the public whenever and wherever they may be needed.

Director of Fundraising and Engagement

Workbase: Flexible / Basingstoke with frequent travel

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, creative and innovative Director of Fundraising and Engagement to lead and develop an enthusiastic team of employees and volunteers to increase income for, and engagement with, The Fire Fighters Charity.

You will develop our fundraising strategy and oversee our marketing activities. With a broad range of experience and a proven record of success across a diverse range of fundraising income streams, you will have responsibility for both growing and developing new sources of income to meet the ambitious aspirations we hold for our beneficiaries.

You will be an excellent communicator across all audiences, able to eloquently convey your passion for our Charity and inspire others.   

Reporting to the Chief Executive and as part of the Senior Leadership Team you will have a significant role in the leadership and management of the Charity.
