The London Community Foundation is the charity for London’s grassroots. We specialise in supporting community-based organisations focused on helping disadvantaged London, and we have a vacancy in our Development Team.

We’re looking for a dynamic, proactive and results-driven individual with experience in fundraising or income generation to join us on a permanent basis as a Development Manager. You’ll be instrumental in raising income and developing our case for support.

  • Brixton, London
  • £30,000 – 35,000 per annum
  • Permanent
  • 25 days leave per annum
  • Double-matched pension contributions (up to max employer contribution of 10%)

As Development Manager, you will be responsible for raising income and building excellent relationships with new and existing supporters. You will become knowledgeable about the issues affecting London, articulately conveying greatest needs in fundraising proposals and pitch meetings.

We’re on the lookout for someone who can spot new opportunities for development. Your experience will have taught you how to grow funds and build strong relationships.

We’re looking for somebody with at least two years’ experience of working in philanthropy, wealth management, corporate social responsibility or social sector raising or advising on funds. An understanding of current trends in corporate social responsibility would be an advantage.

It’s important that you are organised, with an ability to manage multiple priorities. You’ll be comfortable with the balance of administration and creativity that we all have in our roles.

You will be intellectually curious, insightful, and driven, with a desire to develop your understanding about how communities are tackling a range of social issues – from the integration of refugees and asylum seekers, through to improving the environment or reducing crime. You will be able to distil this knowledge into valuable insight that will be shared with others, including potential supporters to our cause.

Finally, you will be someone who thrives in a dynamic and supportive environment that encourages you to take on new challenges, learn and improve. Your ambition will match ours – to see a strong and vibrant London for everyone.
