Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser
London, SW8

About Us:

The National Literacy Trust is a national charity dedicated to raising literacy levels in the UK. We run projects in the poorest communities, campaign to make literacy a priority for politicians and parents, and support schools. Our mission is to give young people the literacy skills they need to get a job and lead a successful life.

One person in six in the UK has poor literacy skills that impact on every area of their life. A child without good reading, writing and communication skills can’t succeed at school, and as an adult they could be locked out of the job market. Poverty doubles the likelihood of literacy failure by the age of five.

Now, we’re looking for a Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser to join our London team and help drive donations to fund our excellent work.

The Benefits:

- Salary of £33,000
- Pension (8% employer contribution)
- Become a key member of a flexible, collaborative and growing team
- 28 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays and a Christmas closure

Having a fully literate population is one of the key elements of an enlightened, educated and forward-thinking society. However, there are still people across the UK who struggle with literacy and your role will enable us to impact them and take our literacy programmes to those who will benefit the most.

Securing funding from major bodies and individuals will mean that our work is guaranteed to continue into the future. Without major sources of funding, we would not be able to keep ensuring literacy is on the social agenda and it would be in danger of falling by the wayside.

You will be a key driver of funding for our organisation and will make sure we can keep working on projects and programmes that enhance literacy across the UK.

Your Role:

As a Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser, you will be tasked with managing relationships with leading funders and developing new areas of activity to grow revenue streams.

Specifically, your role will involve:

- Bid writing
- Researching organisations
- Working with the Senior Management Team and Programme Managers to develop bids
- Producing creative proposals that will engage and entice funders

About You:

To be considered as a Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser, you will need:

- Experience in trusts and statutory fundraising
- Experience of identifying and responding to commissioning processes
- To be a skilled bid writer
- Strong marketing skills
- Excellent communication skills

We are interested in hearing from you, if you have been a Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser, Bid Writer & Fundraiser, Programme Fundraiser, Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser, Trusts & Grants Fundraiser.

Please note the closing date for applications is the 21st May 2018.

The National Literacy Trust is committed to being an equal opportunities employer and aims to ensure that no job applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, ethnicity or religion.
