The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is one of the world’s top four botanic gardens based on the quality, breadth and depth of our science, plant collections, public engagement and education.

This is a pivotal role for the RGBE as it seeks to support a new strategy for philanthropic fundraising to diversify its income streams, focusing on increasing revenue from individual major donors, patrons, and corporates, while also developing income from trusts and foundations and growing a successful legacy programme.

We’re looking for a creative, dynamic, and entrepreneurial major gifts manager, who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a small tight knit team. You will develop close working relationships with colleagues in the fundraising and membership team, senior leaders from across the organisation, and the wider RBGE community. You will play a lead role in bringing particular major gifts in the five figure plus range to fruition and sometimes play a supportive role in empowering the team to develop their own donor relationships. S/he will be a member of the Development leadership team and will deputise for the Director when appropriate.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a much loved organisation, and to help support the vital work of the RBGE in terms of its local and global impact.

Applicants will need to have experience in a comparable role, with a good knowledge of major gifts fundraising, and patron’s programmes, along with excellent communication skills.

More information on the role, including a full job description, person specification and department structure can be found on our website.

Interested candidates should send a CV and covering letter outlining the skills and experience they could bring to the post along with a completed equal opportunities questionnaire, by midday GMT Mon. 23rd July 2018.
