The University of Manchester is at the forefront of the search for solutions to some of the world’s most pressing problems, seeking to be a global force for positive change. Part of the prestigious Russell Group of universities, we are highly respected across the globe as a centre of teaching excellence and innovative research. With 25 Nobel prize winners among our current and former staff and students, we have a history of world firsts and brilliant discoveries, from splitting the atom to giving the world graphene.

Working in Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Manchester is exciting, rewarding and fun. Our four values - to have integrity, to be bold, to be collaborative and to be ambitious - reflect who we are, how we do things, and what we want to achieve. Underpinning everything is our drive and commitment to make a difference.

As a Development Officer, you will be responsible for building strong connections with alumni and non-alumni, developing a portfolio of active donors. Your focus will be on raising philanthropic provision, in line with agreed targets, for health and medical related activity in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health alongside scholarships and other University philanthropic priorities.

If you are an experienced fundraiser (or business development professional) with a proven track record at the five and six figure levels, and passionate about making a difference through income generation, we want to hear from you. A natural influencer who builds relationships with confidence, a sophisticated communicator and gifted storyteller; you will work with world-leading University academics and clinicians, representing the University’s interests with passion and conviction. By engaging donors in powerful and impactful philanthropic programmes, you will make a positive difference on the world – just as Manchester has.
