ABOUT US
The Woodland Trust is the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity. We want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland.

THE ROLE
Gifts in wills are vitally important to our vision as they fund a third of everything we do for woods and trees. This new and highly rewarding role will be responsible for promoting gifts in wills regionally. It is one of four new regionally based posts across England and sits within a team responsible for the planning, development, management and marketing of the gifts in wills engagement programme.

The role is focused on inspiring individuals to remember the Woodland Trust in their will and building strong relationships with legacy prospects and pledgers. Dedicated, first class account management will be essential to continue to engage and inspire, growing both the number and value of gifts.

The post holder will be the face of legacy fundraising in their area and will lead the regional legacy activity, handling all gifts in wills enquiries as well as working with colleagues locally and centrally to raise the profile of legacy giving. Delivering the core prospecting and stewardship events programme in their region, and creating bespoke local events, will be a key aspect of this position.

THE CANDIDATE
You will be a strong influencer, with experience of working in fundraising, the third sector or a targeted environment as part of a high performing team. You’ll be comfortable working to targets and communicating with a broad range of stakeholders.

A strong negotiator with a collaborative approach, you’ll be able to identify, develop and build effective relationships with a range of supporters at all stages of the legacy journey to grow pledger numbers, improve pledger loyalty and increase legacy income.

The role is home-based but externally facing, meeting and engaging with supporters and individuals throughout the region to promote the Woodland Trust and the importance of gifts in wills. So you must be able to travel frequently within the region and, at times, across the UK.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
There’s no other organisation like the Woodland Trust. Whatever you do here you will be supporting our work to protect and enhance woods and trees. In return we recognise and value our people. You'll have our full support, training and opportunities for professional development, along with a contributory pension, life assurance and good holiday entitlement.
