The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. Staff and students work alongside local researchers, practitioners and decision-makers all over the world, addressing a broad range of public health threats.  From preventable blindness to violence against women to diabetes, staff and students search for solutions, whether in new vaccines, drugs, and diagnostics, or stronger services and systems. Since its earliest days, the School’s heart has been in the fight against infectious diseases – for example malaria, HIV/Aids and more recently Ebola and Zika, and its focus is now expanding to new global challenges such as non-communicable diseases and the implications of climate change.

The School has an ambitious mission, dedicated to tackling current and future public health challenges, whatever and wherever they are. It wants the benefit of its research and discovery to be felt across the globe, from the urban jungle to remote villages and refugee camps. To ensure it remains in the best position to achieve this, the School is embarking upon an ambitious fundraising campaign to secure funding for scholarship and research, but also vital capital projects including the construction of a new building and renovate existing facilities and laboratories, to better accommodate the work of its academics, scientists and medics. To ensure continued success, the team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Trusts, Foundation & Corporate Manager to identify new funding sources.

To be successful in this key role, you will need a strong track record of raising gifts and grants at the 6-figure level or more, from corporations and foundations. You enjoy identifying prospects, and building and managing a robust portfolio. Your excellent interpersonal skills including diplomacy, discretion, tact and persuasiveness, allow you to successfully manage complex and nuanced relationships with a bespoke approach and a high level of good judgement. As a strong proposal writer, you can communicate complex scientific ideas in an engaging and understandable manner.

If this opportunity sounds like the right next step for your career and you have the skills, experience and ability to make a difference, we would be delighted to hear from you.
