Fundraising Officer

Wild Welfare is offering an exciting opportunity to join a small but dedicated team to raise funds that will improve the lives of captive wild animals around the world. 

Wild Welfare has rapidly established itself as an internationally recognised hub of expertise in zoo animal welfare reform, forming effective collaborative relationships with zoos, regional zoo associations, animal welfare NGOs, reputable universities and professional bodies.

Zoos and aquariums play an integral role in all our lives with the power to potentially shape the way we feel and care for animals, while influencing change in attitudes and action towards the protection of our global fauna and flora. We play a pivotal role in the on-going improvement of animal welfare in zoos as well as providing critical support to other institutions that want to end unacceptable wild animal welfare practices. 

We are now expanding, and this new role will identify and implement an effective fundraising strategy that diversifies Wild Welfare’s donor income and supports its continued growth. You will be passionate about our projects and have proven success in fundraising, with a strong understanding of different funding streams. You will need to be self-motivated with an ability to work on your own as the role will be home-based. 

Your main responsibilities will include

• Supporting the development of Wild Welfare’s fundraising strategy to be approved by directors on a rolling 12-month basis.
• Developing relevant fundraising materials and reporting to donors.
• Applying for, and writing grant applications. 
• Delivering small company mail-out donor requests.
• Developing on-line fundraising opportunities that will increase Wild Welfare’s public donations.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their fundraising skills, working alongside our small but passionate and dynamic team, helping develop our projects such as driving forward zoo welfare change in Brazil to animal welfare training in Japan, supporting the development of community action that improves the welfare for captive wild animal's around the world. 

The is role is initially part-time (16 hours a week), with the opportunity for flexible working hours. The position is home-based (preferably located around Greater London), travel may be required within the UK and overseas for relevant meetings.
