Trust Fundraising Lead

The Brendoncare Foundation is seeking an experienced Trust Fundraising Lead to join our dedicated and growing fundraising team. The role will lead on the development of our trust fundraising strategy, from development of the Case for Support, through to donor stewardship, application writing and submission.

Our fundraising programme is a vital support for our vision of transforming the culture of ageing.

The day-to-day of this role will include working with our delivery teams to devise projects for funding, ensuring you have the information required to make this a success. You will hold relationships with key trust donors, organising meetings pre application and building relationships with new donors to improve success rates.

Applications will include specified and restricted projects, general unrestricted funding and capital projects as required. This role will lead on all applications below £25,000 per year and support the Head of Fundraising with applications larger than this.

What will I be doing?

Strategy, research and prospect development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Trust Fundraising strategy, aligned with the financial targets and goals set by the organisation.
  • Research and develop a large trust pipeline including warm and cold donors

Case for Support and application writing

  • Draft specific applications from the case for support to meet donor requirements, ensuring applications are engaging, detailed and accurate
  • Lead on collating data for the need of our services, pulling together research and working with delivery teams to collate impact data
  • Working against specific KPIs for application submissions and income targets, reporting to Head of Fundraising against these monthly

Reporting

  • Lead on the writing of reports to Trusts from which we have received funding
  • Lead on engaging with the Trust after having received funding to keep them warm to future applications

Relationships

  • Work collaboratively with the fundraising team, Trustees, care homes and community / club services team, staff and the central office team.
  • Create and maintain effective relationships with external contacts to include prospective donors, community groups, volunteers and supporters.
  • Support the wider work of the fundraising team where required, including at occasional evening and weekend events.

Maintain records of all donor and prospect relationships on our CRM system.

  • Maintain high standards of donor care and stewardship.
  • Keep abreast of fundraising activity and trends across the charity community, corporate and events sector.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Brendoncare’s work, in order to develop a compelling case for support for a range of projects and initiatives.

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Promote Brendoncare’s charitable ethos, act as an ambassador for our services and support fundraising initiatives to maximise voluntary income for our charity.

What do I need to have to apply?

 Essential requirements

  • Demonstrable experience of achieving income targets through trust and grants fundraising through submission of high-quality applications and effective donor stewardship.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a grant writing role
  • Successful 5 figure multi-year applications
  • Experience of working in a target driven environment, ideally within a fundraising team
  • Experience of using IT software including Microsoft Office and a fundraising Customer Relationships Management Tool
  • Excellent and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to network at all levels.
  • Able to use own initiative to work autonomously and also to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to identify opportunities to benefit Brendoncare.

Desirable requirements

  • Fundraising or marketing qualification/training.
  • Strong budgeting skills
  • Knowledge and awareness of issues affecting older people.
  • Ability to read through complex information, selecting important points and reaching decisions for an appropriate course of action.
