Salary: £32,022.00 - £34,377.00 Per Annum
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Part-time hours will be considered.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with initiative and excellent collaboration skills. You will work alongside the Head of Grants, Planning and Development to maximise our grant income, manage some of our key funder relationships and collaborate with fundraising colleagues from RSPB UK Country teams to increase grant income, embodying a one team fundraising approach. 

Although this is a permanent position, there is some flexibility to consider part-time / flexible working.

Responsibilities: 

  • Maximise income from existing grant sources and identify and evaluate new income streams to ensure on-going funding of RSPB work.
  • Work with colleagues across the RSPB to plan and submit funding bids.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key UK grant funders and external funding bodies, including National Lottery Heritage Fund, National Lottery Community Fund and Landfill Community Fund to maintain and increase financial support for nature conservation programmes across the RSPB. 
  • Build effective relationships within the organisation, advising colleagues on funding conditions, ensuring that we maintain funder reporting and compliance expectations. 
  • Coordinate UK-wide grant funder communications and campaigns. 
  • Create and maintain accurate records in keeping with data protection legislation and team procedures for necessary record keeping and coordinating approaches to funders.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven success in grants fundraising, or related, transferable fundraising skills. 
  • Experience in managing and developing strategic funder relationships. 
  • Strong advocate capable of working with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to research, develop new opportunities and write funding bids. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively to manage cross-organisation and cross-sector funding bids.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, databases, and Microsoft suite. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Budget management
  • Knowledge of legal compliance and due diligence within the charity sector 

Desirable: 

  • Interested or experienced in the environmental sector
