With a recent brand refresh complete and further activities underway to raise our awareness this is a great opportunity to use your creative skills to develop and deliver our individual donor journey and grow our active database. Building on the foundations already laid a key element of the role will be to better co-ordinate and link all our current fundraising channels while developing our digital strategy, cash appeals, fundraising events and legacy marketing.

Our aim is to increase the number of young people that we take to sea to 2,000 by 2022/23. Sustainable regular income will be a key element to achieving this with individual giving playing a vital role.

The role is based in Portsmouth, but some travel and time away from the office will be necessary.

Responsibilities

Individual Giving – create, manage and ensure delivery of a ‘donor journey’, and subsequent campaign plan which will include acquisition, donor development, retention, upgrade, conversion and reactivation campaigns, as well as developing loyalty communications and new initiatives. Build donor relationships to increase income to agreed targets and ROI will be a key part of the campaign. Identifying the analysis required to understand campaign trends and supporter behaviour - and reacting to this - will also be key to ongoing success.

Digital – develop and manage our digital fundraising strategy to improve our onsite experience, and to maximise conversion, completion rates and income generation to agreed KPI’s. Ensuring seamless integration with our onsite commercial offering will be key to the strategy.

Legacy - develop, lead and manage the Trust’s legacy marketing strategy. As the Trust celebrates over 60 years of operating, our database contains many long term supporters providing a good opportunity to grow our legacy income. A good working knowledge of the legislation in this area would be a distinct advantage but specialist training can be provided.

Cash Appeals - plan, deliver and execute cash appeals across a variety of channels including mail, email and SMS. Monitor, analyse, evaluate results, and adjust our approach, to deliver continual growth.

Events – to organise, coordinate and develop annual and ad hoc fundraising events both onboard and ashore. Work across teams to deliver relevant events and activities for both fundraising and engagement, looking at measurability and ROI in every instance.

Additional Tasks – keeping up to date with current fundraising best practice and GDPR legislation is paramount. Take a proactive approach to the role, continually looking at how it can better support the success of the Trust. Keeping ahead of our competitors by keeping abreast of fundraising innovations, addressing the requirements of our audience, and meeting their communications needs and preferences. To continuously support and motivate colleagues to enable the charity to grow.
