UK Youth provides young people aged 8-25 with high quality services, delivered through a network of 3,536 local youth organisations across the UK. Together we offer support, advice and training to over 1.5 million young people to equip them with skills for the future and help them engage in education, volunteering and employment. 

About the role:

In this new senior role as Bid Writer, you will be responsible for taking identified opportunities and funding ideas and developing high-quality, compelling and persuasive funding proposals to unlock funding across UK Youth’s workstreams. Working with internal and external stakeholders you’ll have responsibility for the bid development process ensuring deadlines and income targets are met.

This is an exciting time to join the fundraising team at UK Youth as we look to build on our success and grow our impact. We have recently brought together the Fundraising functions from across the organisation into one team who are responsible for securing funding for our portfolio of national skills development programmes, outdoor education and youth voice. as well as for our essential core services such Membership, Policy & Comms, Impact & Learning, Finance, HR and Partnerships & Fundraising.

Each year the charity seeks to secure c. £6m in fundraising from a variety of sources including Trusts & Foundations, Statutory sources, Corporate Partners, Individuals and through our events portfolio and we have ambitious plans for the future.

We offer a salary of between £38,000- £48,000. Additional benefits include 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a pension scheme (currently UK Youth match employee contributions up to 5%), a life insurance scheme which would pay out up to 4 times your salary and additional staff benefits including an Employee Assistance programme to support employees both professionally and personally.
