Fundraising Manager

Job Description

Main Purpose of the post;

To shape Autism Togethers future fundraising programme. To develop major donor and corporate partnership programmes, convert one-off donors into regular givers and to nurture high net worth individuals.

The fundraising manager will work closely with the Communications Director, developing new programmes and strategies and be key in progressing the careers of a small but motivated fundraising team.

Key responsibilities


  • Take responsibility for implementing the fundraising strategy and action plans and achieving financial targets.

  • Oversee all fundraising activity; ensure continuous improvement and a coordinated approach across all streams.

  • Objectively analyse fundraising performance and recommend and implement solutions for any areas of concern.

  • Produce annual budget.

Major donor programmes:

  • Create, develop and manage long-lasting relationships with major donors and corporate partners.

  • Understand how to engage corporates, taking account of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes and pitching innovative projects and campaigns that work for all parties.

Trusts and grants:

  • Oversee an ongoing trusts and grants programme, ensuring compelling approaches are made to the right trusts at the right time.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM):

  • With the aid of the eTapestry fundraising database, develop the charity’s supporter network, improving retention and acquisition levels.

  • Develop a programme for high net worth individuals.

  • Ensure the organisation says ‘thank you’ appropriately and rewards supporters.

  • Manage all legacy and ‘in memory’ giving.


  • Increase the organisation’s volunteer pool and help the Fundraising Officer manage the volunteer team in a way that encourages increased participation.


  • Working closely with the communications team, develop memorable and innovative campaigns and appeals.

  • Working with communications team, develop digital fundraising campaigns.


  • To participate in the staff appraisal and supervision programme

  • To represent Autism Together externally, at relevant Meetings, and liaise with other agencies or colleagues
  • To play a part in promoting the aims and objectives of Autism Together, so as to increase public awareness and gain support for its work
  • Where appropriate, to undertake training conducive to personal development

To undertake, following prior consultation, other duties which may, from time to time, be specified by the Communications Director or in their absence the Chief Executive.
